Senior Internal Auditor

Job Overview

Job Purpose The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting risk-based internal audits, evaluating internal controls, assessing compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and recommending improvements to strengthen governance, risk management, operational efficiency, and financial accountability. Key Responsibilities Conduct risk-based audits of financial, operational, technology, and business processes. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance systems. Review compliance with applicable laws, regulations, directives, and internal policies. Assess payment transactions, settlement and reconciliation processes, merchant operations, and technology-related controls. Identify control weaknesses, irregularities, fraud risks, and operational inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare audit plans, working papers, findings, and comprehensive audit reports. Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and agreed management actions. Coordinate with management, Risk & Compliance, Finance, Technology, and other relevant functions while maintaining audit independence. Perform special audits and investigations as assigned by the authorized audit authority. Qualifications and Experience Education: BA/MA in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field. CIA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage. Experience: 5–7 years of relevant internal or external audit experience, preferably in financial services, fintech, digital payments, or banking. Technical Competencies: Risk-based auditing, internal controls, financial analysis, audit reporting, fraud risk assessment, and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
